The Discovery and Adventurer club is filled with the world's best children and their parents. But even with all this raw energy and talent, there is still much additional help that is required. If none of the jobs below interest you, please speak with somebody anyway — there is bound to be an area where you can show God's love to Atholton's most treasured resource, our children.
Teach a monthly one and a half hour meeting. Topics include: Adventist history, handicraft, sewing, carpentry, basket making, collecting, money, nature, animals, honey, environment, astronomy, geologist, habitat, weather, outdoor explorer, fitness, hygiene, magnets, music, computers, etc.
Help the teacher during class, help students with crafts, etc.
Volunteer to teach a topic of interest that corresponds with an Adventurer award.
Help with anything needed at club events like Bonfire, Christmas Party, Skate Night, Nursing Home Concert, Community Project, Camping, Induction, Investiture, etc.
Order and distribute new uniforms at the beginning of the year. Tally the awards required for each class, purchase new ones as needed and prepare them to distribute at the spring investiture meeting.
Open and set up all the rooms for the classes, hang banners, class names, take class boxes and attendance sheets to the classrooms on every third Wednesday of each month at 6 pm.
Check with the church secretary to make sure that meeting space is available at Atholton at desired meeting times.
Take pictures (and movies) of each class at the monthly meetings and other events. Put together a video montage and slideshow for investiture.
